The BMW 5 Series Touring with standard Adaptive Headlights puts winding roads in a new light. Sensors permanently monitor the Touring's speed, yaw and front-wheel steering angle; the system can then calculate the path of the road ahead. Electromechanical motors swivel the xenon headlight units to direct the beam to exactly where the Touring is heading. The result: greatly improved illumination and increased safety, especially on winding roads.
