The safety system in the BMW 7 Series uses state-of-the-art sensor technology to ensure that the Sedan's occupants have the protection they need, when they need it. Just five milliseconds is all the system takes to detect an impact, calculate its severity, recognise which of the eight airbags needs to be deployed and to inflate them to the correct degree. At the same time, the occupant restraint system and Active Headrests are activated as required.
