2007 Golf House Classic
at Carrrington Resort
The winning combination of fine wine, five star cuisine and challenging golf made for another winning tournament at Carrington for The 2007 Golf House Classic for which Team McMillan BMW have been a major sponsor for the last three years. The tournament was played at the superb Carrington Golf Resort over the weekend of 26th – 28th October.
After two days of two ball Ambrose the North Shore combination of Paul Bartley with Titirangi’s Sam Sullivan took out the 2007 trophy with a net score of 129.6. Closest rivals were Tim Reehal and Colin Orr of Manukau with a team score of 133.2 while 3.8 points behind on 137 were Peter Garner and Shaun McCann of Muriwai.
“It is a unique and fascinating format” noted tournament director Kim Buckley of PaR nz Golfing Holidays who manage the event for Carrington. “First reactions to an Ambrose format are quickly abated after many new time players to the tournament find the competition extremely competitive. With the value of the whole weekend supported by Team McMillan BMW with a special BMW car draw, we can honestly say we have never had a player go home not thinking that they had had exceptional value”.
Clients enjoyed wonderful hospitality over the weekend including an eight course degustation dinner with wine matching on the Saturday night, “BMW” cocktails and the opportunity to test drive the fabulous new BMW X5. All attendees (golfers and non golfers) had the opportunity to participate in the exciting draw for a brand new BMW 320SE where one lucky person had the chance to choose one envelope out of 100 – one containing the BMW, the rest containing an exciting BMW Driver Training Day at Pukekohe Raceway and $300 worth of BMW Lifestyle accessories, compliments of Team McMillan BMW. Our lucky person unfortunately did not pick the envelope containing the car but was absolutely thrilled to receive the very substantial consolation prize valued at $1,000.
