BMW 3 Series Conquers Road and Track
- Voted 2006 “World car of the year”
- Wins 2006 World Touring Car Championship
The multiple-award winning 2006 BMW 3 Series has proven its performance capabilities both on the road and the racetrack to end a magnificent 2006.
After being voted the 2006 "World Car of the Year" in April at an awards ceremony held in conjunction with the New York International Automobile Show, Andy Priaulx’s BMW 320si won the 2006 World Touring Car Championship in Macau in November.
By winning both the Drivers’ and the Manufacturers’ Championship, the BMW 320si WTCC finished a truly successful maiden season in motorsports. The drivers of the BMW national teams scored a total of 11 wins out of 20 races with the car that was developed by BMW Motorsport on the basis of the road-going 3 Series car.
Driving enthusiasts around the world have considered the BMW 3 Series to be an icon for its unique combination of style, performance, handling, comfort and utility. It is the quintessential luxury sports sedan and is now available with xDrive all-wheel drive. The aluminum/magnesium inline six-cylinder engine with Valvetronic technology reduces weight while at the same time improving both performance and fuel efficiency. The advanced Dynamic Stability Control system includes features such as Brake Drying, Brake Standby Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, and Comfort Stop.
Team McMillan is celebrating Andy Priaulx’s victory with a BMW 3 Series Motorsport complete with WTCC Graphics and specification highlights like a dealer fitted Carbon fibre boot spoiler and 18” Alloy wheels. This BMW 3 Series is available for test-drive at Team McMillan now.
